Biblical Trauma Healing (THI Method)

Hope and Healing in a Troubled World

How can churches respond to people living with grief, trauma, and life-changing crises?

In this lecture, I introduce Biblical Trauma Healing (THI Method) – a research-informed, faith-based approach that combines biblical reflection with trauma-informed care. The method is used in small-group settings in more than 200 languages worldwide, offering churches a practical way to foster hope, community, and resilience.

I introduced the THI Method to Denmark and have spent many years studying, teaching, and facilitating the method in collaboration with churches and Bible Societies in Africa, the Middle East, and Asia. These experiences are reflected in my book When God Bends Down.

The lecture combines current research, international experience, personal stories, and biblical perspectives.

Reviews

"This is not a theoretical presentation of the method. It is Synne Garff's personal account of how the THI Method brings hope and healing – and a compelling testimony to its impact."
Steen Skovsgaard, Bishop Emeritus

"Garff tells deeply moving stories. Her language has a spiritual resonance, and her commitment is authentic."
Jørgen Bartholdy, Library Reviewer (DBC)
