Specialized in the THI method

Experienced in interreligious contexts, having served as International Director of the Danish Bible Society for almost a decade. Specialized in the THI (Trauma Healing Institute) method, which is used in more than 100 countries. Synne has been the driving force behind bringing the THI method to Denmark since 2015.

The THI method was developed by the Trauma Healing Institute and integrates biblical narratives and mental health principles. It has been tested by nearly half a million people worldwide. In 2023, Synne brought together all her experience to co-found the Center for Faith, Loss and Trauma (Center for tro, tab og traumer), where she now serves as director. The center is part of a global network.

MORAL INJURY – the overlooked trauma

CTTT also supports people affected by moral injury. This serious and painful condition can arise after events that violate one’s deeply rooted sense of right and wrong. There is a significant overlap of symptoms between PTSD and moral injury.

CTTT participated in the 2024 World Congress on Moral Injury, Trauma, Spirituality and Healing (online), organized by The Human Flourishing Program at Harvard’s Institute for Quantitative Social Science. Here, leading researchers presented the latest developments in the field. The THI method was introduced as a well-tested method that can provide some people with renewed perspective and courage to live.

HOPE, HEALING AND COMMUNITY

I have traveled extensively around the world and witnessed how individuals who had experienced trauma gained hope and healing through participating in healing groups using the THI method."
